COMBINED FEDERAL CAMPAIGN: STAND FOR HEALTH

There’s just one month left for military and federal employees to support their favorite charities with the Combined Federal Campaign (CFC). With the unprecedented back-to-back disasters plus CFC’s delayed start this year, support is needed now more than ever for our charity partners to defeat cancer, fight the deadliest diseases, and save lives.

Check out Community Health Charities’ interview, “CFC givers have many military-friendly options. One expert suggests playing the long game” featured in Military Times, Army Times, Navy Times, and Long Island Technology News, reaching an audience over 1 million. Our charity partners, Autism Speaks, Arthritis Foundation, American Lung Association, American Heart Association, American Diabetes Association, Sickle Cell Disease Association of America, American Cancer Society, and Alzheimer’s Association were all included.

MEDICA RAISES OVER $370,000 BY CELEBRATING, TOGETHER

Together, we don’t just give—we celebrate!

Community Health Charities company partner Medica’s 2017 “Together We” giving campaign didn’t just focus on fundraising. Instead, it focused on uniting the Medica community around a single cause: Together we can make a difference.

The campaign kicked off with a picnic lunch with over 900 Medica employees. The lunch was emceed by “Medtallica,” a band comprised of Medica employees. When the bass player unexpectedly wasn’t able to attend, a board member stepped up and jammed impromptu with the band. VOLUNTEER TOOLBOX: CAMPS FOR KIDS WELCOME PACK

This month’s featured tool is the Camps For Kids Welcome Pack. Each year, more than 14 million children attend summer camp in the US. It’s a right of passage for many, providing outlets for independence and personal growth. For kids facing long-term health challenges, it offers life-changing opportunities to see beyond their limits to new possibilities. Grab a backpack, pillowcase or bag, and create a Camps for Kids Welcome Pack.

This volunteer opportunity, and many more, are available in our “Volunteer On the Spot” toolkit.

CAMPAIGN RESOURCES: JEANS DAY

This month’s featured resource is Jeans Day. Host a “Jeans Day” event to engage employees and encourage campaign participation. Employees donate in advance or on the event day. Give them a sticker to represent their participation and share the impact.
